Your Sydney Pocket Guide by Clara Ho, co-owner of The MITT Mrkt.

Sydney based store owner Clara Ho, knows good design when she sees it. Her store, The MTT Mrkt, which she co-owns with business partner, Giuseppe Santamaria, celebrates the work of local designers, housing uniquely Australian designed lifestyle goods ranging from fashion, accessories to grooming and homewares.

More than just a retail store, The MITT Mrkt. is a destination for the discerning modern man. The space is also home to MITT Studio Talks, a monthly series of talks about fashion, lifestyle and careers.

With an eye for design and a passion for creative collaboration, Clara shared some of favourite Sydney shops.

For gifts…

Well, apart from our own shop of course (!) Becker Minty in Potts Point is a great place to start. There’s always a beautiful selection of products, especially unique pieces which are perfect for the ‘person who has everything’.

For the wardrobe basics…

Citizen Wolf in Surry Hills is an amazing place to get your basics – they create your perfect tee, tailored and custom made exactly how you like them. Plus, they use all Australian fabrics, and they’re made in Sydney, so you know exactly what you’re wearing every day.

For a unique find

Our neighbours, The Makery, located on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst always have unique items. And the best thing? They’re all from local designers as well! The brands rotate regularly, so you’re sure to find something new every time you go in.

For ambience…

O’Connell St Merchants in Newtown have a great vibe – it’s really warm and welcoming. The smell of coffee and freshly baked donuts from the cafe downstairs helps too!

For customer service…

Walking into Courtesy of the Artist in the Sydney CBD is always a pleasure. Nina and her team are so knowledgeable and always make the shopping experience so enjoyable, even if you’re just browsing.
