How to defend your store from Amazon using SDO

We’ve been talking about Store Discovery Optimisation for a while now. We’ve even built a whole microsite around it. Why? It seems to us at Booodl that most Aussie retailers are blissfully unaware of the impending threat posed by Amazon.

Despite warning signs like this one that “Amazon will eat our breakfast, lunch and dinner”, coupled with the huge opportunity apparent in the rise of location centric search, physical retailers are a still a step behind.

Bricks-and-mortar stores in Australia need to put in the legwork now if they’re going to survive. Increased store discoverability is the first step.

People shop online primarily because of its perceived convenience, according to the latest PwC Total retail report. But what if we could make physical retail just as convenient? We can!

The more data stores provide, the more discoverable they become, and the more convenient it becomes for shoppers who want to buy products they sell.

That’s what we’re all about. Increasing your Store Discovery Optimisation, which will up your shopper visits and sales, and help you defend against Amazon.

We were fortunate enough to have the chance to talk to Sky News Australia about SDO and Amazon defence. If you missed the interview, you can watch it below.

We’d love to hear your feedback and ideas in the comments.
